Portfolio Project: Production Company Logo

A production company logo is actually more important than people might think. In filmmaking, the production logo is the first visual that audiences see, building brand recognition, quality, and identity in the film industry. It creates a sense of professionalism and trust with viewers and may establish the film's creative style.

When creating our production company logo, my partner and I wanted to make something slightly dark, fitting the mood and tone of our film opening, while also making it flashy enough where it can stand out to potential audiences. Our creation process underwent several changes, with three different variations of our logo. With the name, Static Studios, we wanted to incorporate a visual element to represent static, so we designed this:

Looking over it a few days after we designed it, my partner and I felt that it may be too plain for our artistic style and decided to create two more logos with flashier designs that would stand out on screen. We wanted to ensure that it would be eye-catching and easy to spot in a crowded shot. So, we designed these two logos:

While working on these designs on the design website, Canva, we began playing with different animations that could add a unique artistic style and engagement for the actual name. Looking through different ones we immediately changed the path we were taking and decided that the two new variations may be too crowded, or not the style that we were going for paired with the animation of the words. So, we decided to rewind and go back to our original logo, pairing it with an engaging animation, finalizing our creation with this:
